My name is Priscilla and we are a family of Bernese Mountain Dog lovers with more than 35 years of experience in raising and showing these dogs.
We have selected some of the best bloodlines in Europe and imported them in order to have a line of Bernese that are long lived and healthy and we place a special emphasis on good character. We also use some domestic lines of top quality genetic histories. I don't breed any other dogs except Bernese and I never mix purebred dogs with other breeds.
Although we aren't commercial breeders, we do show dogs and will occasionally breed some of our best dogs in order to preserve the best traits of the breed. I don't have many litters, but when I do breed these dogs, I only breed the very best.
I am a member of the Bernese Mountain Dog Club of America and the Bernese Mountain Dog Club of the Rockies and follow or exceed their recommendations for health and temperament evaluation of breeding dogs. I show my dogs at AKC sponsored events and do have a number of AKC champions at the moment. Breeders who do not belong to a Bernese Mountain Dog club and do not show their dogs or have AKC titles are often just puppy mills and should be avoided. Kennels that have multiple litters in a year should be carefully evaluated before buying a puppy from one. Our dogs live a family life, with us in our home on our farm here at 6,500 feet of elevation in Park City. They have several acres of land where they roam free and are carefully socialized as they grow up to accept all types of animals, as well as, of course, people. We do not keep a dog if their temperament is not that typical of a Bernese, confident and alert but never aggressive. I breed for health and temperament, but I am blessed to have some beautiful Berners as well, and our farm is always open to visitors who are interested in this breed |
